A refresh for a PNW classic.

Talking Rain is naturally flavored sparkling water, described as the perfect balance of flavor and bubbles. It’s been a Pacific Northwest favorite for over 30 years – equally at home in backyards and backpacks. It’s a well-known regional brand with lots of local love. The water is sourced directly from a spring on the western side of the Cascade range.

Evolving the brand and redesigning the packaging for Talking Rain meant leaning into its PNW roots: the brand needed to feel approachable and down-to-earth, while also being seen as a younger more adventurous version of its former self. The design system also needed to expand to accommodate a newly-launched caffeinated version. While working with the marketing team at Talking Rain, we wanted the brand to proclaim its founding in the Cascade mountains and also to reach out to a younger customer base. The packaging needed to be fun, fizzy, and flavor-forward.
